Guiding the Localization of Corporate LLM Products into East Asia

Overview
A globally expanding LLM enterprise partnered with CarterIGNITE to support its entry into East Asia. Designed for English-speaking markets, the client’s solutions needed to be adapted to meet the distinct language, cultural, and enterprise expectations of Japanese and Korean users.
We began by engaging with key decision-makers across large organizations to understand how LLM tools are evaluated, adopted, and used in practice. In parallel, we explored how cultural nuances, such as communication and business style, expectations of accuracy, and attitudes toward risk, shape requirements for enterprise LLM solutions. These insights informed a structured localization roadmap, which was refined through user feedback and practical usage cases.
Results
The project provided a clear view of how enterprise LLM products are perceived in Japan and Korea, and where gaps exist between current offerings and local needs. The client gained clarity on language and cultural nuances, and enterprise requirements, enabling a more targeted and effective localization strategy for these markets.
